Quick Start

  1. Install system dependencies (Ubuntu/Debian):
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install python3-gi python3-gi-cairo gir1.2-gtk-3.0 gir1.2-vte-2.91
  1. Set up your API keys:

    • Copy settings.json.template to settings.json
    • Add your API keys
    cp settings.json.template settings.json
    # Edit settings.json and add your API keys

    IMPORTANT: Never commit your API keys to the repository!

Installation Options

Using Snap (Recommended)

The easiest way to install DeepShell4:

sudo snap install deepshell

Using Debian Package

You can download the latest .deb package from our GitHub releases page or build it yourself:

# Build the package
dpkg-deb --build deepshell

# Install the package
sudo dpkg -i deepshell.deb

From Source

# Clone the repository
git clone https://github.com/gokul6350/DeepShell4.git
cd DeepShell4

# Create and activate virtual environment
python3 -m venv venv
source venv/bin/activate

# Install dependencies
pip install -r requirements.txt

# Run the application
python main.py
