Documentation Structure

Managed Identity Providers:

  • Moved standalone setup content from main managed files to a new managed/advanced/ folder
  • Main managed files (auth0.mdx, okta.mdx, jumpcloud.mdx, microsoft-entra-id.mdx, google-workspace.mdx) now focus on the recommended Management Setup (Dashboard)
  • Advanced files contain the standalone setup instructions

Self-Hosted Identity Providers:

  • Moved standalone setup content from main files to a new advanced/ folder
  • Main files (authentik.mdx, keycloak.mdx, pocketid.mdx, zitadel.mdx) now focus on the recommended Management Setup (Dashboard)
  • Advanced files contain complete standalone setup instructions with all necessary steps

Content Updates

  • Removed detailed standalone setup steps from main files; replaced with brief descriptions and links to advanced pages
  • Added comprehensive notes in advanced pages referencing the recommended setup and linking back to main documentation
  • Removed troubleshooting items specific to standalone setup from main files (e.g., API tokens, device auth, service accounts, token validation)
  • Kept troubleshooting relevant to the Dashboard setup (redirect URIs, connector initialization, authentication failures, etc.)
  • Fixed broken references in advanced files that pointed to steps in main files (e.g., Authentik advanced file now includes complete instructions)

Additional Improvements

  • Updated alternative IdP recommendations from Keycloak to PocketID across all files
  • Removed outdated Google Workspace version-specific note
  • Ensured all advanced files are self-contained with complete instructions

Benefits

  • Clearer separation between recommended and advanced approaches
  • Easier maintenance with standalone setup isolated in dedicated files
  • Better user guidance with explicit recommendations
  • Reduced duplication and cleaner file structure
  • Self-contained advanced files that don't depend on main file content
