@quinn-dev this should clear up some questions about the
builtbranch, among other things.Most of this document describes how things currently are, but Release Policies describes how I expect things to work in future. That means I'm particularly interested in your opinions about that part; but it also means I'll probably have to change everything based on what's actually achievable in practice.
I don't expect to merge this one as written here, but unless you object I'll merge something like it once I've finalised the release process.
